Messina Super Course

Guido Messina is an Italian road and track cyclist who won a Gold Medal at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics for the pursuit, and four Gold and three Bronze medals at the World Championships on the track between 1948 -57. He also rode on the road with Frejus,Ignis and Molteni teams in the 1950s-1960s.
After retiring from competition, he started a bike shop selling high-quality road and track bicycles. He had some frames built under his name, the high end frame sets like this one where built by artisans frame builders from Turin, including Giovanni PelĂ  and Villata.


 Early 1980's Messina Supercorsa
Frame Columbus SL, Messina pantographed sloping fork crown, seat stay caps and rear brake bridge, Cinelli Bottom Bracket shell and lugs set, Campagnolo chrome Drop Outs.
Frame has been professionally stripped to bare steel and repainted. There is very minor damage to the L/H down tube decal and a small paint chip under the top of the L/F Seat Stay which can't be seen under normal viewing.
Frame has been fully aligned and is straight and true.
