Olmo Competition C
Giuseppe "Gepin"Olmo (born November 22, 1911) was one of the great Italian cycle racers of the 1930's, his list of victories includes a Gold medal in the 1932 Olympic Team road race (with Attilio Pavesi and Guglielmo Segato) the Milano–Torino (1932), Milan–San Remo (1935, 38), nine stages wins in the Giro d' Italia between 1933-37 and of course his most famous racing achievement taking the hour record on October 31, 1935, riding 45.090 kilometers.
While still riding as a professional, Olmo set up a cycle manufacturing business in 1938 (known as Olmo Biciclette) with his brothers Franco, Giovanni and Michele in his home town of Celle Ligure, the business is still producing bicycles today.
Olmo was always heavily involved in sponsoring professional racing teams, GIS (1982), Alfa Lum (1983) spring to mind...

The frame number 4223 suggests this particular frame is an late seventies example.
This frame has been fully aligned, the bottom bracket faced, then fully restored in our workshop, all bearing were repacked with period Campagnolo grease during the rebuild.
The frame has been hand stripped to bare metal, etch primed undercoated/primed (at least twice) painted with automotive two pack base coat/clear coat.
The chrome is tidy but does have a couple of very small blemishes please refer to photos.
